WHY the Champions League reform hurts football

The Champions League is set for a major overhaul in 2024. The new UCL format would increase the number of teams to 36 and add an extra 100 games to the schedule. A new league format for the initial stage of the Champions League could favor the richer clubs, and even if they miss out through traditional qualification the "elite" could still be assured a seat at the table.
